Graduates earn 426 degrees, certificates from Sussex County Community College

About 43 percent of the 426 degrees and certificates handed out by Sussex County Community College in 2017-18 were to students in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Newton conferred 180 associate's degrees and 3 certificates in liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies. Data shows the school gave out 180 associate's degrees in liberal arts and sciences/liberal studies, followed by 77 associate's degrees in general business administration and management and 41 associate's degrees in "other" corrections and criminal justice.

The college enrolled 2,300 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
