Sussex County ranked sixth in New Jersey for resident earnings in 2019

Sussex County ranked sixth among counties in New Jersey by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Sussex County residents was $42,781 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 53,322 households with a population of 141,483.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Hunterdon County with $51,782 per year after adjusting for inflation – $9,001 more than Sussex County. It had 47,175 households with a population of 124,823.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Cumberland County with $24,786 per year after adjusting for inflation – $17,995 less than Sussex County. It had 50,729 households with a population of 151,906.
