We are hardwired to want to do things on our own and be independent-minded

Why is it so hard to ask for help? We are hardwired to  want to do things on our own and be independent-minded. Asking for help makes people feel uneasy because it requires surrendering to someone else, and many of us have a hard time with that! Some of us are afraid we will be shunned or rejected if we ask.

But did you know, the irony is that most people do want to help! When we practice asking for help in small ways, it can help build us up for bigger asks down the line, because let's face it, we all face challenging times at some point and there's no reason we have to face them alone!

What's the worst that could happen by asking for help? It's OK if someone says no - maybe they aren't able to help, but maybe they know someone who can!

Remember, asking for help is NOT a sign of weakness - it's a sign of personal strength! We aren't meant to go through this world alone. So go out there a build your help muscles and remember to flex them when someone asks for help from you!
