Are you looking for a way to use your recovery experience to help others? We're hiring Peer Recovery Coaches for our Opioid Overdose Response Program (OORP). We're hiring for Recovery Specialists to join our team!

Description: Engage individuals reversed from an opioid overdose or hospital patients experiencing other issues related to substance use and provide non-clinical assistance and recovery supports while maintaining follow-up with these individuals.

Responsibilities: The Recovery Specialist will provide on-call coverage and respond to the Emergency Department to support the patient when an alert is received. The Recovery Specialist will also provide telephone follow-up for 8 weeks to help participants navigate the early stages of seeking assistance and beginning a successful path toward recovery. Recovery Specialists must maintain accurate records and adhere to all data collection protocols.

Requirements: Applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience in recovery and be willing to work toward certification as an NJ Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Stability of personal recovery, knowledge of the recovery process, and strong interpersonal, communication, and computer skills are required. Recovery Specialists must have a valid driver’s license and an independent mode of transportation. OORP Recovery Specialists must also be approved to volunteer with Atlantic Health System/Newton Medical Center.
